We (Confidential Counselling) are committed to respecting and protecting client’s privacy at all times by adhering to the GDPR rules of 2018 (General Data Protection Register) GDPR Registration No. ZA905926.

Our Data Controller is registered with ICO (Information Commissions Office) and abides by that ethical framework to meet the legislated requirements for clinical safeguarding in accordance with the law.

We need your permission to contact you by text message or phone pertaining to the counselling service, we cannot guarantee all text messages are totally secure as this is network dependant.

Your Privacy:

It is normal procedure for counsellors to keep session notes as memory aide to continue to work effectively within the best modality and to reflect upon for safeguarding and monitoring client progress.

We use professional standard CORE forms to evaluate client wellbeing which helps to highlight difficulties for the counsellor to observe. These forms also measurably evidence how therapy has been effective.

Data Collected is minimal and non- identifiable to anyone other than your counsellor or a designated member of Confidential Counselling team if, and only if, deemed absolutely necessary to ensure best safe practice.

Confidentiality:

Counselling has legal exceptions to confidentiality and the following are constrained by the Laws of England.

Otherwise, whatever you say will be kept strictly confidential and equally we expect you to keep any information divulged by your counsellor to be held in confidence.

We have a duty of care to uphold in terms of safety of the general public and we may have to disclose information under a Court Order, in certain cases we have a duty by law not to inform clients of disclosures to authority.

We uphold a moral standard and we work to the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Ethical Framework in relation to child abuse, human trafficking and harm to self or others, we aim to collaborate with clients before involving third party professional help such as a GP. Please inform us if you become involved with any services such as social worker or family liaison officer.

You must inform us of any current or imminent Court Case of which you have any involvement or connection with.

You must inform us if you have or potentially may offend sexually or violently or have involvement with any professionals such as probation or social services as we have additional contractual obligations to be signed, if this becomes apparent during the course of therapy, we can re-contract.
